After a hearty breakfast, today is dedicated to exploring the wild corners of Tsavo West. Armed with picnic lunch, you'll set out on a full-day game drive that includes visits to some of Tsavo’s most iconic viewpoints.
One such spot is the towering Roaring Rocks, named after the reverberating calls of lions that echo through the area. From the summit, you’ll enjoy panoramic views stretching across the savannah. You’ll also explore Poacher’s Lookout, once used by ivory hunters to scout herds, now a peaceful observation point.
Next, visit the Chaimu Crater, a hauntingly beautiful lava cone composed of black volcanic ash—ideal for spotting the elusive klipspringer, a tiny antelope nicknamed “rock goat” for its sure-footedness. Depending on time and conditions, you may also venture to Lake Jipe, a tranquil border lake shared between Kenya and Tanzania.
Your day ends with dinner and a restful night back at the lodge.
