Your safari begins with a journey south from Nairobi along the Nairobi–Mombasa highway, cutting across classic savannah landscapes. As you drive, you’ll pass vibrant rural scenes—colorful Maasai herders guiding their cattle, children waving from the roadside, and sun-scorched plains stretching to the horizon.
By midday, you’ll arrive at the legendary Amboseli National Park, one of Kenya’s most photographed parks and home to the continent’s largest elephants with iconic tusks. After lunch and a short rest, you’ll head out for your first game drive.
Expect close-up views of elephants, zebras, wildebeests, lions, giraffes, and possibly cheetahs. Birdlife is rich too, from vibrant bee-eaters to regal eagles. If the skies are clear, you’ll witness a photographer’s dream—elephants backdropped by snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro.
Dinner and overnight at Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge, a luxurious retreat nestled inside the park.
